Hello,
My family and I have been considering adding a dog to our family over the last couple of years, we really like the working dog breeds. I am wondering about the puppies from Harney county if they are all adopted out. We could provide a loving and safe environment, I am a home maker there is always somebody home here. We would prefer a young female, it just seems that would work best since we have three young girls the ages of 8, 6 and 3 years old. I personally would love an older dog but a puppy would be a better fit with the youngsters. We live in Salem and I am not finding any on the local humane society websites, are they all adopted out already?
Sincerely,
Susan Kenyon
What is the status of the Dalmatian? Has a dal recuse stepped up for it? just wondering
Oregon Humane took the Dal in mid-December.

Hi I live in Edmonds WA, I’m a foster mom for PAWS and Purrfect Pals. I bottle feed kittens every years during the busy kitten season. I’m an experienced Vet. Tech (8 years, 4 in emergency medicine) I would be willing to bottle feed puppies and find them good homes, poss. work with a local shelter to get them all healthy, vaccines, spay/neuter. They would be raised to be great well-rounded social puppies. Please let me know if I could help. Thanks.
Hello, we are in the portland area and are very interested in adopting one of these puppies. We have a toddler, so a young dog would be best. Are any puppies up this way?
Thanks,
Lisa

Most of the pups are Aussies and Aussie mixes, but that’s certainly not all of them.
and i would also be willing to bottle feed some puppies i have neve done it before but am willing to read up on it i might be able to get 2 i would loveto keep 2 littermates so they would have a friend
I would love to add one of these puppies to my home for my daughter, as she unfortunately lost her dog to lymphomia very quickly in October. I believe it would just be wonderful for her to be able to share in the love of having a puppy again and the companionship she is missing. We have experience with cattle breeds, and would love to have one of the female aussie/mix puppies. How do I go about adopting? where can we find/meet them at?
Hi Ryan. Take a look at our home page and scroll down to the posts from Jan 25 & 30; between the two, you have the names of all the rescues who have dogs from this situation and are able to adopt out to good people like your family. And if you do adopt, you’ve opened a slot which allows that rescue to take on another dog or puppy! Harney County Save A Stray is a network of a very small number of volunteers and we’re having trouble keeping up with all the inquiries (a GREAT problem!) so it is best to adopt these dogs from the rescues that have taken them in and let us continue to work with them to take more. THANK YOU!!!
Janet, were you contacted by one of our volunteers? If not, let us know.

I just saw a posting about this on craigslist. I am not local but would be willing to foster or adopt a pup(s). I am located in Bothell, WA. Are there any shelters near my area that have taken in any dogs? I am willing to drive to pick them up. I want to help. Thanks!
It’s Feb. 19th. What do you need at this time?
Capture. Transportation. Foster Homes, especially for the feral teens. Adoptive Homes.
We would really like to help out a stray. I was told you possibly have Aussie Shepherds, is this the case? Can you please tell me how to go about adopting?
I have been looking for a puppy for the last few months. I can’t seem to rationalize paying for one from a breeder when there are so many that need to be adopted. I saw your post on craigslist and would like to know if there are any puppies left to adopt? I currently have a 7 year old, female, American Staffordshire terrier. She is a wonderful dog and non aggressive. I thought that with the majority of the puppies finding comfort in having another dog around that perhaps I would be a good fit for one of them. I would love to hear from you. Thank you.
Do you think that these dogs would be ok with children? We have aussies and I was curious.
I, as well, have a very pit-bull who stands out as the most warm animal I have ever owned. Quickly, a fresh dog breed will can come together for the media to blast, because they have completed rotties and dobies in preceding years. Unfortunate that media sensationalism breeds a lot inaccurate facts.
I visited your guys’ booth at the fair and fell in love with and adopted your puppy Sarah. She is a very intelligent, loving, friendly puppy, but unfortunately I had to call you guys to take her back in as she seems to need a lot more one on one right now than I can give her with my work schedule. I wish I could have given her her forever home since I fell in love with her upon meeting. Possibly in the near future if you haven’t found her a home yet and my work schedule evens out we can try again.
Deidre,
Sarah has found a home but when you find the time is right and want to try to adopt again please let me know. We usually always have great dogs needing homes!
